What do we really want to achieve in this life? Wealth, fame, security? Or is it happiness, or rather inner peace, that everyone truly seeks but rarely acknowledges. Sure, it may be those things that give you contentment, but do you ever feel like there is more? More to be accomplished, more to be seen, more to be known?
I have always felt as though they are walls around me. I only know what I have been exposed to, or rather limited by. This makes me question what else is out there? What can bring me the feeling that I have been searching for, an ambiguous sense of fulfillment?
Therefore one of my greatest ambitions is to travel the world and see the beauty of this planet. There are billions of other people out there living this same day differently. There are thousands of ways we could spend our day, yet which one will truly bring us what we are searching for? Which one will show us the missing puzzle piece in this jigsaw of life?
I believe true happiness comes from yourself. It is what you want to do. It is who you want to surround yourself with. It is where you decide to put and envision yourself. But the true question is not what, who, or where; it is when, why, and how? When do you want to achieve your goals? Why do you choose to pursue them? And of course, how?
It is no secret that this life inevitably brings a multitude of hardships along with it. Everyone has to experience sadness and pain to know true happiness. I have always been told, with every hardship comes ease. And it may not seem like that in the moment, but looking back on those times, isn’t it true? Haven’t we all eventually overcome those obstacles and challenges one way or another?
Everything is only temporary. Feelings of sadness and, in contrast, feelings of happiness as well. But it is not what, who, where, when, or why that you should be asking. It is how. How can you face these problems head on to get through it better than before? Learn from your mistakes because it is okay to fail. It is okay to experience life in the lows, because you will also be able to live life in places higher than the tallest mountains.
No matter what this world throws at you, always remember to ask the right questions. Ask yourself, how can you achieve true happiness and fulfillment? How can you overcome life’s challenges and hardships? How can you navigate through the temporary nature of both sadness and happiness? Because in the end, it is the “how” that directs us to where we truly want to be.
