Looking out into this world, we see an endless array of possibilities and a multitude of opportunities around every corner. We see people in power who are successful in more ways than one. But the question is, how? How did they get there? How are we supposed to get there?

There is only one answer to these questions: change. How are we supposed to progress without changing not only ourselves, but the environment around us? Stepping out of our comfort zones is necessary to get out into this world and face it head-on. Change has to be part of the process for us to truly succeed. Change is part of the journey.

Thinking about change, I’m reminded of the seasons. In the summer and spring, we enjoy the bright, beautiful colors on display through the abundance of flowers and trees around us. We see the butterflies and birds that sing and soar through the warm, fragrant air. However, that's only temporary.

Come autumn, the leaves abandon the once grand, full trees. Winter greets us with nothing but a firm chill, and we look through our windows to see nothing but a barren, quiet landscape. What was once a world full of rich, vibrant greens, blues, and pinks is now a world of black and white.

Nevertheless, in another three months, spring welcomes us once again with open arms. This only shows that nothing ever stays the same for very long. It can be scary to see such drastic transformations occur, but if everything around us is constantly changing, we need to change with it.

If we don’t change, there is no room for growth. You have to allow yourself the ability to be spontaneous. Try new things, get yourself out there, and reach out to old friends. If you don’t try, you will never know what could’ve been. Sure, things could go south, and you could fail, but that’s all part of the journey. How can you know true success without failure?

Reflecting on my own experiences, stepping out of my comfort zone has led to unimaginable yet incredible opportunities for personal growth and adventures that have impacted me for the better. I believe that I would not be even half of who I am today without those experiences.

Remember, change is part of the journey. Don’t stop after one setback; keep going. Take that leap, make that change, and see where it leads you. Your future self will thank you.
